Grow vegetables. My brother grows squash, okra, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, pumpkins, herbs, cucumbers, etc., etc. They're really tasty! :ic:

11/27/09: About Day 33

At first glance, I'd say no noticeable change:

But a closer inspection reveals a group of pink/purple dots that may be the beginnings of some stalks!

12/17/09: Day 53

Well, Good news and Devestating news....

Good News: The Bonsai Potato has born a very bold bud!

Devastating News: My Sony Cybershot digital camera that I got for Christmas about 5 years ago has totally turned to crap. 5 years of parties, sporting events, hiking, and caching have torn it up. This means one thing.....cell phone pics for awhile.

I understand and share the frustration of Bonsai Potato fans around the world. I assure you that I am planning on getting a replacement digital camera after x-mas. However, I would like to remind everyone that for only $3 a month you can become a Premium Bonsai Potato Member! Your membership fees will go towards the substantial cost of maintaining all that is needed to support this project. The more members, the faster I get a digital camera.......so sign up right away!!!!! Well, you don't actually have to "sign up" so to speak. Just make your checks payable to Joshua Simpson and bring them to the next geocaching event I attend! It's just that easy! And don't let me stomp on your enthusiasm for this project, remember that $3/month is the minimum fee. I'll happily accept what you are comfortable with.

Now I know what you naysayers are thinking: "gosh another thing I have to sign up for? I don't want to subscribe to the Bonsai Potato Project"...... That's totally understandable!!!! That's why for a limited time I am offering some top class merchandise for a one time only price!!

For $5, get this one of a kind Bonsai Potato Coffee Mug:

Not in to Coffee? No Problem! Who wouldn't want to walk around in this official "Bonsai Potato" T-shirt for the low price of $25 one size fits all:

Whats in it for me Josh?

Do I get bonsai potato cell phone updates?

Do I get bonsai potato pocket queries?

Do I get a cool bonsai potato charter member status?

Do I get bonsai potato geocoins?

And you should hint to your family that you need a new camera for Christmas lol.
Till a voice, as bad as Conscience, rang interminable changes
On one everlasting Whisper day and night repeated -- so:
"Something hidden. Go and find it. Go and look behind the Ranges --
"Something lost behind the Ranges. Lost and waiting for you. Go!"

As you can see by my disappearing pictures, I haven't gotten all the kinks worked out. :?

As far as the gift. My parents already got me a sweet tv so no go there. However, my cousin always gets me a westcor gift card and I've hinted to my brother so I think I'll have enough Christmas cash to get a decent enough camera. :)

12/29/09: About Day 63

Woohoo! Was able to get myself a new camera for the holidays and can now provide better quality pictures to you all.

A very impressive bud has grown out the left side of the potato and it looks like 4 or 5 other little buds have sprouted, but yet to really take off. Let's hope they do so I can get my zen.

Looking good Josh.

My replanted fan palm "weed" that just showed up one day in one of our potted plants didnt seem to like being transplanted on our front lawn. Im hoping a new shoot will pop up.
