1)  Garmin Brand GPS Receivers

  1. Installation to Mapsource (on a PC)
  1. Download and extract the "Mapsource Installation File".
  2. Open the file "setup.exe" contained in the ZIP file and follow the instruction for installation.
  3. Open Mapsource.  In the Map selection tab in the upper left corner, click on the pull down arrow and select "Calgary Area Trail Maps".  This will bring up a single map with all of the trail information.
  4. Choose this map and any other maps that you require in the normal fashion and download then to your GPSr as normal.  The trail map should show up on top of any other maps that are loaded to your unit.
  1. Installation to Roadtrip/Mapinstall (on a MAC)
  1. Download and extract the "MAC version Mapsource Installation File".
  2. Follow the instruction from Garmin on installing to your computer: http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/MapSource_MigratingGarminMapProductsfromWindowstoMacComputers.pdf

 

  1. Direct Installation to the GPSr
  1. Download and extract the "Base Map Files".
  2. Download and install "Sendmap20" from http://cgpsmapper.com/download/sendmap20.zip
  3. Follow the instruction for Sendmap2- program to upload the map file "09999991.img"  and whatever other files you desire to your GPSr.


  1. File Copy to the GPSr

  1. If you have a new style GPS (Colorado, Oregon, Dakota, 62, 78, Montana, any 4 number Nuvi) you can simply copy one of the following files to the Garmin directory on the unit internal or external memory.

2)  Lowrance Brand GPS Receivers *** The Lowrance Maps are BETA Versions ***  Please use with care and email your feedback.

  1. Download the file http://www.calgarycachers.net/trailmaps/Southern_Alberta_Trail Maps_Lowrance.zip.  I do not know the detailed instructions at this time.  Please let me know how they work!!
